Rostselmash goalkeeper Ilya Bliznuk was voted the best player of the river Don region in the season of 2001 by an opinion poll conducted by the local Football Courier newspaper. A player of the same team forward Dmitri Kirichenko was the runner up. Third place went to Stanislav Lebedintsev, halfback of SKA, SE correspondent Yevgueni SEROV reports.
