Match of all Russian Hockey superleague stars took place in Yaroslavl today. The game ended with typical for this kind of matches result - 11:8, West group won.

The match was preceded by individual and team competitions where players from West and East groups contended in different areas of hockey. These competitions were even more interesting than the match itself. There were seven types of competitions (butonpuck, strike distance, speed, penalty shots, strike accuracy, move attack, buton). The West group representatives were less lucky  - they won 4 competitions out of seven and got the prize - car VAZ-2115. Anton But (Lokomotiv) was the fastest - he ran over the pitch for 14,5 seconds. Oleg Shargorodsky (Avangard) was the most accurate: he stroke all the four targets in the goal corners from 8 attempts. Ak Bars back Dmitry Bykov made the most distant stroke, Lokomotiv goalkeeper Egor Podomatsky was the best in saving penalties.

After these competitions the match wasn't so thrilling. Like in traditional NHL matches the players avoided power game, moved slowly and sometimes forgot to defend their goal. Thus it's not surprising that the teams managed to score total 19 goals. The most interesting moment of the match - middle of the second time when Egor Podomatsky (West) was replaced by Maxim Sokolov (Severstal). 'Eastern' players greeted him with four goals in five minutes which changed the result from 6:3 to 6:7. But they couldn't sustain their success and lost the third time and the game. The best players of the game were Egor Podomatsky and Evgeny Koreshkov.
